British Curriculum
The British Curriculum is the curriculum of choice at Tailored Tutoring and is a curriculum that prepares school students for life, helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning.

EXAMS
External Examinations are currently written through Montessori College or the British Council.
In preparation for external examinations our students write 3 months of past papers before the exam sitting. This builds confidence and helps to eliminate stress.
External Exams are usually written in May/June and October/November.
gED®
GED® EXAMINATION
GED® will allow your child to gain access to a college to pursue a diploma, or to certain private universities. The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) has evaluated GED® and found the National Senior Certificate as its closest comparable qualification.
Should a student wish to continue with a degree, they will be able to apply at mainstream South African universities. GED® is accepted overseas and by foreign on-line universities.

Students are not required to take all 4 exams at once — but rather can be spaced out depending on the needs of the student.
TEST RESTRICTIONS
If you are 18 years old or above you may sit for the test with no restriction.
If you are under 18 years old, you must complete and submit a Parental/Guardian Consent form and send it to help@GED.com. Once the form is reviewed and approved by us, you will receive a notification in your GED.com account letting you know that you can schedule your test.
Due to government rule, no one under 16 years old is allowed to test. After April 1, 2019, no one under the age of 17 years old will be allowed to test.®
IMPAQ (CAPS)
Impaq’s lesson material and educational products are based on a distance education learning model. Children follow an independent learning approach and you, as the parent, are more involved in your child’s education.
Tailored Tutoring is a a registered Impaq Centre, and as such, we add value to this model, and are able to give your child personal assistance and tutoring so that they can fully grasp all the concepts laid before them.
Parents will need to buy the program from Impaq, but all tutoring is covered by the centre tutors.
We work from 8.15am to 1.45pm, Monday to Friday. During exam time, we follow the official timetable set by SAICA and tutors are in attendance for these exam sessions. All exams except matric finals, are written and the centre and most are marked by the tutors. For grade 11 and 12, mid and end year exams are marked by Impaq. There is no extra cost for this.
WHAT IS IMPAQ?
Impaq provides a comprehensive set of educational products based on a CAPS aligned curriculum for Grades R – 12 in English and Afrikaans. This curriculum and related solutions are designed to enable individualised learning and are used to educate learners at home.
